So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the LORD came powerfully upon David from that day on.

Who Say You’re Limited?

IGMA Team, David was a teenager working in the fields, taking care of his father’s sheep. It was just another ordinary day. He was doing the right thing, being faithful to do his menial job, when he heard his father calling him to the house. He thought, “Why’s he calling me? It’s the middle of the day.” He arrived home and was surprised that all of his brothers were there. Even more surprising, the prophet Samuel, who was a deeply respected and influential man in Israel, was waiting for him. This was a big deal. While they were all watching, Samuel pointed to David and said, “He is the next king of Israel.” David had never met Samuel, never turned in a résumé, never set up an interview, yet this respected prophet showed up and anointed him as the next king.

Do you think you’re limited by where you are today? God has ordained people whom you don’t even know to open doors and take you to levels higher than you’ve imagined. You are going to say, “Who would have ever thought I could end up here?”

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You know where the good breaks are, the right connections, the opportunities that will take me to the next level. Thank You that when I keep doing the right thing and am faithful, You bring me everything I need. I believe that my Samuels are on the way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
