Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the LORD to handle the matter.

Proverbs 20:22, NLT

Wait for It

IGMA Team, when someone treats you wrong, when a child is off course, when someone is talking negatively about you, there’s an underlying pressure saying, “You better act now and get even. If you delay, it’s going to get worse.” The enemy tries to get you so frustrated that you have to do something quickly.

Don’t fall into that trap. When you try to fix the problem on your own, to force things, manipulate people, or strive to get them to like you, you may get something done, but it will be less than God’s best.

Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. God is in control. He sees what you’re going through. He knows who’s not treating you right. He sees who’s talking about you. He sees the child who’s breaking your heart.

These are things that only God can change. Take all that pressure off. It’s very freeing when you say, “God, my life is in Your hands.

I trust You to handle this matter.” You can rest assured that at the right time, God will take care of it.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, Thank You for the example that Jesus showed in His response to insults, false accusations, and being treated badly. Thank You that I don’t have to fall into the trap of trying to fix others, change other people’s opinions, or prove that I am right. I believe that You will handle it Your way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
