It’s Still Stored Up

IGMA Team, when God promised Abraham that he and Sarah would have a son, Sarah was way past the childbearing years. Year after year went by with no baby. They decided to try to help God out. Sarah gave Abraham her maid, Hagar, to sleep with, and they had a son, but he wasn’t the promised child. Then Sarah got mad at Abraham when Hagar despised her. Abraham got frustrated with Sarah. Hagar was treated so badly by Sarah that she fled into the desert. There was all kinds of dysfunction in their home. You would think that God would say, “Abraham, you blew it. You’re too messed up. I’m done with you.” But in spite of all the mistakes, God said, “Abraham, I still have your promise stored up. I still have a baby for you.” Against all odds, when Abraham was one hundred years old, Sarah had a baby boy named Isaac, the promised child.

You may have made mistakes, but that didn’t disqualify you. God still has your dreams, your healing, or your freedom stored up. Just dare to believe.

A Prayer for Today

 “Father, thank You that You are the Most High God, and You are not limited by what limits me. Help me to remember that You can do the impossible when I’m tempted to water down Your promises. I believe that You keep my blessings stored up for the right time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
