Healthy Tension

IGMA Team, we all love the seasons when everything is going great and there’s no pressure.

But those seasons are few and far between. There are very few times when you’re not dealing with some opposition that could have you stressed—people who are not for you, a neighbor who gets on your nerves, a problem that’s not going away.

You can have a dozen things going right, but there’s that one thing you could easily worry about. But that one thing is what causes you to keep pressing forward.

It’s healthy tension. God knows how to put on just the right amount of pressure so you don’t get complacent and put your faith on autopilot, but you keep stretching, keep growing, so you can reach the fullness of your destiny. The greatness God put in you is released when you’re under pressure.

Your potential comes out by going the second mile, by being good to people who are not good to you, by not letting the pressure cause you to shrink back. Instead, you dig down deeper, knowing that God is getting you prepared for something greater.

A Prayer for Today

“Father, thank You that You use pressure and opposition to keep me moving forward in faith. Thank You that You keep stretching and growing me so I can become all that You created me to be. I believe that the greatness You put in me will come out and I will rise up to new levels. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
